The Musical Years
At nine, Inan discovers the piano, his first instrument. Its keys become a canvas for his emotions, a way to translate the world around him. Under his father’s guidance, he learns to weave stories through sound. “The piano taught me that every note matters, every pause has meaning.”

His early influence
"Music wasn’t just played in our house; it was lived. Instruments were part of the landscape of my youth, and our identity was inseparable from the rhythm. My father, having learned his craft from members of the pioneering group Derdiyoklar, passed down a unique musical DNA: a fusion of Anatolian psychedelia with the grit of funk and soul. This heritage naturally became my own. From him, I learned that music is a serious craft, a blend of cultural roots and disciplined artistry that continues to define my work today."

Jugendhaus Years
His early DJ journey started between breakdance circles and Jugendhäuser, where he carried records, set up speakers and played for whoever was there. During this time he developed a deep understanding of crowd energy, community and the culture of sharing music. These early experiences became the foundation for everything that followed.

At a street party in Berlin I found myself playing music alongside Virgil Abloh, one of those raw, unplanned moments where music and culture just naturally collide. Around that same time I introduced Virgil to Ben from Alpha Industries. What started as a simple connection later grew into a collaboration between Alpha Industries and Off-White.

Loco Dice
Around 2010 I discovered Loco Dice. He was one of the first DJs who showed me how hip-hop energy could live inside house music. For someone coming from that culture, this changed my perspective completely. In 2016 we ended up playing on the same lineup, a moment that felt like a quiet confirmation of the journey. That influence still lives in how I think about music today.

IAM
IAM, a collaborative project with Afshin Momadi, marked my first serious steps into house music and electronic production. It was during this time that I began shaping my own musical direction. Key moments included performances at Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza and the release of “DUNYA” featuring Luciano, important early milestones on my path into the international electronic music scene.

2023
Sharing the Stage with Black Coffee
Inan Batman’s connection to Black Coffee began in 2018 at DC10 Ibiza, where his distinctive blend of deep house and African musical heritage became an early source of inspiration. Years later, that inspiration evolved into sharing the stage, starting with a booking at Kiesgrube through Tom Preuss where Inan performed as part of Black Coffee’s headline show, followed by Berlin and further encounters around shows and conversations about artistic growth. Black Coffee also supported some of his edits along the way. One principle from these exchanges stayed with him: “Play as much as you can, so as many people as possible can hear you.”

The Louis Vuitton Chapter
Inan Batman’s relationship with Louis Vuitton reflects his ongoing connection between music, fashion and culture. Over the years he performed DJ sets for Louis Vuitton trunk shows and became part of the brand’s cultural environment. A highlight was his invitation to the debut show of Pharrell Williams’ first Men’s collection in Paris in 2023, presented on the historic Pont Neuf. The legendary show featured a live performance by Jay-Z and marked a defining cultural moment for the brand’s new era. This connection reflects a natural alignment between Inan’s artistic journey and a brand that continues to resonate with his evolution at the intersection of music, culture and luxury.

From Bridges to Walls
Nas has been a long-time artistic inspiration for Inan Batman, particularly through his lyrical depth and storytelling. At a One Nation meet & greet event in Berlin in 2024, Inan designed a tribute T-shirt titled “From the Bridges to the Walls.” The concept resonated with Nas, who spoke on stage about the importance of bridges as symbols of connection and growth, marking a meaningful full-circle moment in Inan’s journey.
